The Eurodistrict Pamina EGTC is one of the beneficiaries of the b-solutions 1st call for proposals.
Aim of the Pilot Action was to investigate ways to ease the administrative burden affecting frontier workers between France and Germany – especially for what concerns the health insurances.
Frédéric Siebenhaar, from the Eurodistric, comments on their experience with b-solutions:
“The list of problem cases showed a great diversity of obstacles but we decided to address all of them, as even the smallest obstacle might have a negative impact on the citizens’ perception of Europe and European integration. The project was a very good opportunity to better network the different stakeholders and to carry out a profound analysis of obstacles. Thanks to b-solutions, our EGTC was able to take on a pilot role and to recommend itself as rapporteur on health issues within the framework of the Aachen Treaty. The reimbursement of cross-border healthcare is of great importance for the inhabitants of the border region. Every obstacle overcome leads to tangible improvements and further integration of the region. Furthermore, it was possible to take over some aspects of the b-solutions project in an INTERREG project that we are currently implementing. Our positive experiences should encourage other organizations to take part in the next calls. especially as the cooperation with AEBR and the Border Focal Point of the European Commission was excellent and very enriching."
